What stays on your device
Tend stores your questions, intended outcomes, weekly direction, parked thoughts, session history, reflections, and settings locally. The iPhone/iPad app keeps its notebook in app-scoped storage. The website uses your browser’s local storage. The developer does not receive your notebook.
There are no accounts, advertising, analytics SDKs, tracking, or AI services in Tend. The native app’s timer, notebook, and source summaries work offline.
Notifications
Session reminders in the iOS app are optional local notifications scheduled on your device. We do not use a push server or collect a push token. Reminder messages omit your task and note text. You can manage permission in iOS Settings.
Backups and exports
You can export a notebook backup or weekly Markdown notes. In the iOS app, the system share sheet lets you choose where a copy goes. In a browser, exports download to your device. Tend does not automatically upload them. App data may also be included in device backups according to your Apple and device settings; those backups are managed by the platform.
External links and support
Opening a source or support website connects to that website and is subject to its policies. The web version is hosted on GitHub Pages, whose infrastructure may process normal web-request information such as IP addresses. If you email for support, the information you include is received through email and used to answer your request. Please avoid attaching private research notes unless needed.
Keeping and removing your data
Your notebook remains until you remove the app or its stored data, clear the site’s browser storage, or replace it through backup restoration. Export anything you want to keep first. Copies you deliberately export or share remain wherever you saved them; deleting Tend does not delete those copies.
